Marie Haag was a house keeper from Western Franconia. Against the anti-semitic spirit of the time, she took a position with a Jewish widower as late as 1937—taking a stand against the growing isolation of Jewish people. For her courage, she paid with her life.

In the Pogromnacht, SA members invaded her master’s house to raid and salvage it and to abuse the homeowner. She was hurt so badly during the raid that she died shortly thereafter.
